MY FAVORITE SWIMMER

Michael Fred Phelps was born in June 30, 1985.
Is an American swimmer. He has won 14 career Olympic gold medals, the most by any Olympian, and is often cited as the greatest swimmer and one of the greatest Olympians of all time.

As of August 2, 2009, Phelps has broken thirty-seven world records in swimming.
Phelps holds the record for the most gold medals won in a single Olympics, his eight at the 2008 Beijing Games surpassed American swimmer Mark Spitz's seven-gold performance at Munich in 1972.
Overall, Phelps has won 16 Olympic medals: six gold and two bronze at Athens in 2004, and eight gold at Beijing in 2008. In doing so he has twice equaled the record eight medals of any type at a single Olympics achieved by Soviet gymnast Alexander Dityatin at the 1980 Moscow Summer Games. His five golds in individual events tied the single Games record set by Eric Heiden in the 1980 Winter Olympics and equaled by Vitaly Scherbo at the 1992 Summer Games. Phelps career Olympic medal total is second only to the 18 Soviet gymnast Larissa Latynina won over three Olympics, including nine gold.

Phelps's international titles and record breaking performances have earned him the World Swimmer of the Year Award in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and American Swimmer of the Year Award in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. He has won a total of fifty-four career medals thus far in major international competition, forty-five gold, seven silver, and two bronze spanning the Olympics, the World, and the Pan Pacific Championships. His unprecedented Olympic success in 2008 earned Phelps Sports Illustrated magazine's Sportsman of the Year award.

An Exotic Paradise

Cocoa Island is a small, private island resort designed for those seeking an easygoing, foot-in-the-sand experience. The rich, warm waters and bountiful coral also promise some of the world's best beaches, snorkelling and diving.
Cocoa Island, known locally as Makunufushi, is located among South Malé’s coral atolls. Our location has a clear advantage over others: you don’t, as with many resorts, need to take a seaplane but a 40-minute speedboat transfer from Malé.

This island is long and thin with sand snaking out into a perfect spit that disappears with the evening tide. The first thing to strike you on arrival is the welcome of palms, hibiscus and alang-alang while the house reef, which encircles Cocoa, delineates a gin-clear lagoon.

At Cocoa Island, you can choose to do very little. Some guests find their own stretch of beach; others prefer to relax in privacy on their suite's hidden terrace, or lounge beside the resort's main swimming pool – cobalt, melting into an empty horizon.

If you want an active holiday, there is a water-sports centre with sea kayaks, catamaran, windsurf boards, a fully equipped PADI certified Dive Centre, a COMO Shambhala Retreat including several Treatment rooms, a Yoga Pavilion with a resident instructor, fully equipped gym, steam rooms and hydrotherapy pool.

MY FAVORITE PET

The Chinese Shar-Pei is a large dog with wrinkled skin. It has a square profile with a broad, flat head.

- The muzzle is wide, padded, full, with a moderate stop. Like the Chow Chow, these dogs have a blue-black tongue.
- The teeth meet in a scissors bite.
- The small, sunken, almond-shaped eyes are dark, but may be lighter in dogs with a dilute colored coat.
- The high-set, triangular ears are very small, and slightly rounded at the tips.
- The tail is thick at the base tapering to a fine point and set extremely high.
- The dewclaws are sometimes removed.

Both heavily wrinkled dogs with large heads and smaller headed dogs with tighter looking skins occur in this breed. Puppies have more wrinkles than adults. Shar-Pei slowly lose their wrinkles as they get older. There are three coat varieties: horse-coat, brush-coat and a rare bear-coat.

The Chinese Shar-Pei will do okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised. It is moderately active indoors and will do okay without a yard.

Shar-Pei are sensitive to warm weather, partly do to the wrinkles on their head holding in the heat.

On hot days shade should always be provided. Water should be available at all times. Provided they get enough exercise, they will be very peaceful indoors.

MUSIC: Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas is a Grammy-award winning hip hop group that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1995. The group is composed of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Will.I.Am and vocalists Apl.De.Ap, Taboo, and Fergie. Since their album Elephunk in 2003, the group's hip hop/dance-oriented style has sold an estimated 25 million albums worldwide and 31 million singles. They scored their first worldwide hit with "Where Is the Love?" in 2003, which topped over ten charts worldwide. Another single was the European hit "Shut Up". Their next album Monkey Business was another worldwide hit, certified 3x Platinum in the U.S., spawning two hit singles "My Humps"and "Don't Phunk With My Heart".

In 2009, the group became one of only eleven artists to have ever held the number one and two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time with their singles "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling", from the album The E.N.D., and the singles also topped the chart for an unprecedented 26 consecutive weeks combined in 2009. The album later produced a third Hot 100 number one with "Imma Be", making them one of the few groups to ever place three number ones on the chart from the same album. The album also includes singles such as "Meet Me Halfway" and "Rock That Body".
