An Exotic Paradise

Cocoa Island is a small, private island resort designed for those seeking an easygoing, foot-in-the-sand experience. The rich, warm waters and bountiful coral also promise some of the world's best beaches, snorkelling and diving.
Cocoa Island, known locally as Makunufushi, is located among South Malé’s coral atolls. Our location has a clear advantage over others: you don’t, as with many resorts, need to take a seaplane but a 40-minute speedboat transfer from Malé.

This island is long and thin with sand snaking out into a perfect spit that disappears with the evening tide. The first thing to strike you on arrival is the welcome of palms, hibiscus and alang-alang while the house reef, which encircles Cocoa, delineates a gin-clear lagoon.

At Cocoa Island, you can choose to do very little. Some guests find their own stretch of beach; others prefer to relax in privacy on their suite's hidden terrace, or lounge beside the resort's main swimming pool – cobalt, melting into an empty horizon.

If you want an active holiday, there is a water-sports centre with sea kayaks, catamaran, windsurf boards, a fully equipped PADI certified Dive Centre, a COMO Shambhala Retreat including several Treatment rooms, a Yoga Pavilion with a resident instructor, fully equipped gym, steam rooms and hydrotherapy pool.
